অস্ট্রেলিয়ার বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়গুলোতে স্কলারশীপের আপ্লিকেশন জমাও পড়ে বেশি এবং স্কলারশীপও দেয়া হয় বেশি। ৩৩০ টা ইন্টারন্যাশনাল পোস্ট-গ্রাজুয়েট রিসার্চ স্কলারশীপ (IPRS) ছাড়াও ইউনিভার্সিটিগুলোর নিজস্ব স্কলারশীপ আছে। সাধারণত (গত বছরগুলোর পরিসংখ্যান অনুযায়ী) বেশি IPRS পায় (১০-৩৫) যেসব ইউনিভার্সিটি, সেগুলা হলো The University of Melbourne, The University of Queensland, The University of Sydney, Monash University, University of New South Wales, The Australian National University, The University of Western Australia, The University of Adelaide।
