Applications are now open for the 2026 Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Junior Summer Institute (JSI) Fellowship. This prestigious program prepares undergraduate juniors for graduate study and leadership in public policy, public administration, and international affairs.

The PPIA JSI Fellowship provides rigorous academic training, professional development, and access to a lifelong network of peers and public service leaders. Fellows gain essential analytical and leadership skills that position them to make meaningful contributions in public service at local, national, and global levels.

About the PPIA Junior Summer Institute Fellowship

The PPIA Junior Summer Institute (JSI) is a seven-week intensive academic and leadership development program for rising seniors. It is designed to help students deepen their understanding of public policy and international affairs, explore career paths in public service, and prepare for success in graduate education.

Participants receive advanced academic instruction, engage in policy discussions, and benefit from mentorship opportunities. Upon completion, fellows join the PPIA Alumni Network—an active community of more than 5,000 professionals working across government, nonprofit, and international organizations. Fellows are also invited to attend the annual Public Service Expo for additional networking and professional growth.

Eligibility Criteria

The PPIA JSI Fellowship welcomes students from all backgrounds who are committed to inclusive leadership and advancing diversity in public service.

Applicants must:

  • Be current juniors pursuing their first bachelor’s degree at a U.S.-based institution, with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and August 2027.

  • Be U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents, or DACA recipients (eligible for all JSI programs).

  • International students are eligible to apply only for the Princeton JSI and must be enrolled in a U.S.-based institution.
