Applications are now open for the Aspen Strategy Group (ASG) Rising Leaders Program – Class of 2026. Entering its sixth year, this prestigious one-year leadership development program is designed for young professionals passionate about U.S. national security, diplomacy, and foreign policy.

The Rising Leaders Program provides participants with the opportunity to engage directly with top policymakers, academics, diplomats, and business leaders, gaining insights into the complex global issues shaping America’s strategic future.

About the Aspen Strategy Group Rising Leaders Program

Founded in 1984, the Aspen Strategy Group (ASG) has long been committed to cultivating the next generation of national security and foreign policy leaders. This commitment was formalized in 2021 with the launch of the Rising Leaders Program, which annually selects thirty professionals to take part in intensive policy discussions, mentorship, and leadership training.

The program’s mission is to break down silos across sectors, forge bipartisan collaboration, and amplify diverse voices in U.S. foreign policy and international affairs.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • 5–10 years of professional experience in a related field
  • Demonstrated commitment to U.S. national security, diplomacy, human rights, international development, cybersecurity, or other foreign policy areas
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder)
  • Availability to attend all required program events throughout 2026
  • Full-time students and applicants living abroad during the program period are not encouraged to apply.

Application Process

To apply, candidates must submit the following materials by the deadline:

  • Statement of Interest (maximum 250 words)
  • Short essay (maximum 250 words)
  • Resume/CV (one page, PDF format)
  • Professional or academic recommendation letter submitted through the reference portal

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a 15-minute interview in January 2026. All applicants will be notified of their selection status by mid-February 2026.
