জাপান বাংলাদেশের নিঃস্বার্থ বন্ধু। দেশের সুখে-দুঃখে পাশে আছে সূর্যোদয়ের দেশটি। পড়ালেখার মানের কারণে বাংলাদেশি শিক্ষার্থীদের পছন্দের অন্যতম দেশ জাপান। দেশটিও বিদেশি শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য বিভিন্ন স্কলারশিপ দেয়। জাপান সরকার নানা বৃত্তি দেয়। এর একটি হলো মেক্সট টাইটেক স্কলারশিপ।
এ স্কলারশিপের মাধ্যমে টিউশন ফি ছাড়াই টোকিও ইনস্টিটিউট অব টেকনোলজিতে স্নাতকোত্তর ও পিএইচডি করতে পারবেন বিদেশি শিক্ষার্থীরা। স্নাতকোত্তরের সময়সীমা ২ বছর ও পিএইচডির জন্য সময় ৩ বছর।
আবেদন বা ভর্তি হতেও কোনো ফি লাগে না। মাসিক উপবৃত্তি, বিমানে যাতায়াত খরচসহ নানান ধরনের সুযোগ-সুবিধা মেলে এ বৃত্তি পেলে। আইইএলটিএস কিংবা টোফেল ছাড়াই করা যায় আবেদন। বাংলাদেশসহ বিশ্বের আন্তর্জাতিক শিক্ষার্থীরা এ স্কলারশিপের জন্য আবেদন করতে পারবেন। আবেদন শেষ হবে আগামী ৮ ডিসেম্বর।
‘মেক্সট’ আসলে কী
জাপানে পড়াশোনার জন্য অন্যতম একটি বৃত্তি হলো ‘মেক্সট’/ MEXT। এটি আসলে MECSST। শব্দটি প্রকৃতপক্ষে Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology। বড়সড় শব্দটির সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপ হলো মেক্সট।
১৯৫৪ সাল থেকে শুরু করে বিশ্বের ১৬০টির মতো দেশ থেকে আসা ছাত্রদের জন্য এ বৃত্তি দেয় জাপান সরকার। জাপান সরকার প্রদত্ত বৃত্তিগুলোর মধ্যে এটি সবচেয়ে খ্যাতনামা আর সবচেয়ে সম্মানিত। এ বৃত্তির জন্য ভিসা পেলে ভিসাতে লেখা থাকে ‘Govt. Scholar’। জাপানের গবেষণার মাধ্যমে বৃত্তিপ্রাপ্তির দেশ এবং জাপানের মধ্যে বন্ধুত্বের সেতু হয়ে ওঠা মানবসম্পদকে উৎসাহিত করা এবং উভয় দেশ ও বৃহত্তর বিশ্বের উন্নয়নে অবদান রাখার লক্ষ্যেই দেওয়া হয় এ বৃত্তি।
বৃত্তিপ্রাপ্তদের নিজ নিজ দেশ থেকে জাপানে আসার জন্য ও ঠিক সময়ে ডিগ্রি শেষে দেশে ফিরে যাওয়ার জন্য বিমান ভাড়া মেক্সট বহন করে থাকে। অন্যান্য অনেক বৃত্তিতেই এই সুবিধা সচরাচর থাকে না। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে কোনো রকম টিউশন ফি, পরীক্ষা ফি বা অন্যান্য কোনো ফি দিতে হয় না। সরকারি শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোর যাবতীয় ফি মওকুফ আর পাবলিক বা বেসরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে টিউশন ফি আর অন্যান্য ব্যয়ভার বহন করে দেশটির শিক্ষা ও প্রযুক্তি মন্ত্রণালয়।
যেসব বিষয় নিয়ে পড়া যাবে
গণিত, পদার্থবিজ্ঞান, রসায়ন, আর্থ সায়েন্স, মেকানিক্যাল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং, সিস্টেম অ্যান্ড কন্ট্রোল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং, ইলেকট্রিক্যাল অ্যান্ড ইলেকট্রনিক ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং, ইনফরমেশন অ্যান্ড কমিউনিকেশন ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং, ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং অ্যান্ড ইকোনমিকস, ম্যাটেরিয়াল সায়েন্স অ্যান্ড ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং, কেমিক্যাল সায়েন্স অ্যান্ড ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং, গণিত ও কম্পিউটিং সায়েন্স, লাইফ সায়েন্স অ্যান্ড টেকনোলজি।
সুযোগ-সুবিধা
* বৃত্তিপ্রাপ্তদের কোনো টিউশন ফি বা ভর্তি ফি দেওয়া লাগবে না।
* আবেদন করতেও লাগবে না কোনো ফি।
* আসা-যাওয়ার বিমান খরচও মিলবে।
* শিক্ষার্থীদের আইইএলটিএস বা টোফেল স্কোর দেখাতে হবে না।
যোগ্যতার মানদণ্ড
* জাপানের সঙ্গে কূটনৈতিক সম্পর্ক আছে, এমন যেকোনো দেশের আন্তর্জাতিক ছাত্র হতে হবে।
* আবেদনকারীদের অবশ্যই ১৯৮৭ সালের ২ এপ্রিলের পরে জন্মগ্রহণ করতে হবে।
* এখন থেকে পূর্ববর্তী ২ বছরের একাডেমিক পরীক্ষার ফলাফলে জিপিএ-৩-এর মধ্যে অন্তত ২.৩০ থাকতে হবে।

The International Graduate Program (A) offers a choice of six English-language based curricular programs related to the 15 departments of Tokyo Tech and enables students to obtain a master’s or doctoral degree. There are two types of programs: Integrated Doctoral Education Program and Master’s Program. Some curricular programs are set up as an Integrated Doctoral Education Program, designed to combine the Master’s Program and Doctoral Program so that graduate students can obtain both degrees within three to five years.
There is no Japanese language requirement for this program as lectures and seminars are held in English. However, students are given opportunities to attend Japanese language classes on a regular basis in order to better adapt to daily life in Japan.
A limited number of students with outstanding academic records are eligible to apply for a scholarship from Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (“MEXT”) with a recommendation from Tokyo Tech.
