The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and its Department of Geography and Environment are internationally renowned for their research on innovation, innovation policy, and the economics of innovation. As part of this distinguished legacy, the Department is proud to announce the launch of a new MSc in Innovation Policy in September 2025. To support this exciting venture, LSE is seeking a passionate and qualified individual to join as a Fellow in Innovation Policy.
Role Overview:
As an LSE Fellow, you will be at the forefront of shaping the new MSc Innovation Policy program. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating within a dynamic team to manage and deliver teaching for the Department’s MSc programmes, particularly the new MSc in Innovation Policy.
- Contributing to other Department teaching and administrative duties across relevant academic programs.
- Developing and maintaining your own research agenda.
- Potentially supporting the design and delivery of executive or online education programs.
- Organising and leading field trips and other experiential learning activities as needed.
- Participating in departmental and school-wide activities while fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment.
Candidate Requirements:
Candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Have completed or be near completion of a PhD in Innovation or Innovation Policy, including fields like the economics of innovation, public policy, economic geography, or political economy.
- Possess a strong knowledge of quantitative research methods and empirical techniques related to Innovation and Innovation Policy.
- Demonstrate relevant teaching and mentoring experience, the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, and excellent communication and presentation skills.
- (Desirable) Hold expertise in policy and networks related to innovation, its economics, or economic geography.
