The adidas Foundation is seeking a Communications Officer to implement its global communication strategies, enhance public engagement, and ensure effective internal communication. This role will drive content creation, manage social media, support media relations, and develop materials that amplify the voices of the communities we serve.
Location: Nuremberg, Germany (Hybrid, up to 80% mobile work)
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time (35 hours/week)

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute communication strategies across social media, website, and email.
- Craft compelling content for diverse audiences, including funders, partners, and policymakers.
- Monitor social media and inbox inquiries, ensuring timely and professional engagement.
- Manage digital assets and uphold ethical, GDPR-compliant usage of media.
- Support donor and partner communications, ensuring alignment with the Foundation’s mission.
- Oversee branding and visual identity, ensuring consistency in communications.
- Track communication campaign effectiveness and contribute to reporting.
- Coordinate external contractors such as designers and videographers.
- Ensure inclusive language and high editorial standards in all materials.

What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g., Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or equivalent)
- Proven experience: at least 3 years of progressive experience in in communications, public relations, or another relevant field, preferably in a non-profit context
- Intermediate design knowledge, including experience with design briefings and online graphic design tools (e.g., Canva). Advanced design or Adobe tool experience is not required but beneficial
- Experience using AI tools in an ethical and responsible manner to enhance communication, content creation, and workflow efficiency is beneficial
- Evidence of specialization in sports-for-good, sustainability and/or international development related topics is beneficial

- Extensive knowledge of framing communications in a compelling and evidence-based way while respecting the dignity of all communities and individuals involved.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work, pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines and objectives.
- Skilled in intercultural communication, with a proven ability to adapt communications to the respective audience.
- Fluency in English written and verbal communication and presentation skills, tailored for various audiences. Additional language skills preferred.
- Willingness to jump in and support in any other areas related to communications and stakeholder engagement for the Foundation as needed.
- A strong desire to work with diverse teams in dynamic startup environment, applying a hands-on and adaptive working.
- A strong collaborator displaying sound judgment, tact, humility and discretion in building trust-based relationships across diverse communities and stakeholders.
- Extensive interpersonal skills, committed to enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (if possible native English skills)
- Skilled in working with social media platforms, website management, content management systems, and analytics tools to track and optimize engagement. Ability to analyse and interpret communication and engagement metrics to inform strategy and decision-making.
- Experience with media outreach and relationship-building.
- Familiarity with mailing list management and audience segmentation for targeted communication efforts.
