U.S. Embassy Dhaka is pleased to announce a call for applications for the 2024-2025 Fulbright Distinguish Award in Teaching for International Teachers (Fulbright DAI) Program. This U.S. Department of State exchange program provides scholarships for Bangladeshi primary and secondary-level teachers to participate in a semester-long non-degree, non-credit professional exchange program with other educators from around the world. Participants will get a unique opportunity to develop expertise in their subject areas, enhance their teaching skills, and increase their knowledge about the United States.
Program Components:
Inquiry Project: While studying at a U.S. university, each participant will work on completing an individual or a group project on a topic of their choice.
University Coursework: Participants can choose to audit a range of academic courses that align with their professional development goals. The host university will provide coursework on a wide range of topics, including curriculum development, second language instruction, comparative education, educational leadership, and teaching methodologies, among others, from which participants can choose.
Fulbright Seminar: Participants will take part in a seminar at their host university featuring discussions led by university staff, faculty members, and invited guests. The seminar topics will focus on reflecting on field experience, shaping the inquiry projects, and examining trends and current issues in education, such as curriculum, instruction and learning, assessment, instructional technology, student-centered learning, and teacher leadership, among other topics that are of interest to participants.
U.S. School Placements: Participants will be placed at an American elementary or high school to observe classes, co-teach, and share their expertise and information about their home country with their host institution.
Online Professional Learning Community: Each participant will gain access to a virtual community of practice where they can collaborate and exchange ideas with like-minded peers educational professionals working in various countries around the world.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be a Bangladeshi citizen currently residing in Bangladesh.
- Be a full-time primary and secondary educators, including classroom teachers,
guidance counselors, curriculum specialists, library media specialists, special education coordinators, administrators and others who spend at least half of their time interacting with students.
- Have a minimum of five years of professional experience in full-time teaching by the start of the program.
- Have excellent oral and written English language skills to engage in postgraduate level coursework.
- Have familiarity with using Microsoft Office suite platforms such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Submit a complete application according to the program guidelines.

আবেদনের যোগ্যতা—
* বাংলাদেশে বসবাসরত নাগরিক হতে হবে;
* প্রাইমারি অথবা মাধ্যমিক স্তরের পূর্ণ সময়ের শ্রেণিশিক্ষক হতে হবে;
* গাইডেন্স কাউন্সেলর, কারিকুলাম বিশেষজ্ঞ, লাইব্রেরি বিশেষজ্ঞ, বিশেষ শিক্ষা সমন্বয়কারী, শিক্ষক প্রশাসক এবং অন্য যাঁরা তাঁদের শিক্ষাজীবনে অর্ধেক সময় শিক্ষার্থীদের সঙ্গে কাটিয়েছেন;
* শিক্ষাদানে ন্যূনতম পাঁচ বছরের অভিজ্ঞতা থাকতে হবে;
* ইংরেজিতে কথা বলা ও লেখার দক্ষতা থাকতে হবে;
* মাইক্রোসফট ওয়ার্ড ও এক্সেলের মতো মাইক্রোসফট অফিস স্যুট প্ল্যাটফর্মগুলোর ব্যবহার জানতে হবে।

আবেদন শেষ কবে—
ফুলব্রাইট ডিএআইতে আবেদনের শেষ দিন ১৪ এপ্রিল। ওই দিন বাংলাদেশ সময় ১১টা ৫৯ মিনিটের মধ্যে আবেদন করতে হবে আগ্রহী প্রার্থীদের।
