বিদেশি শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য যুক্তরাজ্যের সম্মানজনক গ্রেট স্কলারশিপের আবেদন শুরু হয়েছে। এই বৃত্তির আওতায় ২০২৩-২৪ শিক্ষাবর্ষে স্নাতকোত্তর পর্যায়ে পড়াশোনার জন্য বাংলাদেশি শিক্ষার্থীরাও আবেদন করতে পারবেন।
যুক্তরাজ্য সরকারের গ্রেট ব্রিটেন ক্যাম্পেইন ও ব্রিটিশ কাউন্সিলের সঙ্গে যৌথভাবে নির্দিষ্ট বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অনুদানে এই গ্রেট স্কলারশিপ দেওয়া হয়। যুক্তরাজ্য সময় আগামী মে ও জুন মাসের মধ্যে অনলাইনে আবেদন করা যাবে।
বাংলাদেশি শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য যুক্তরাজ্যের ৯টি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে এই বৃত্তি দেওয়া হয়। এগুলো হলো অ্যাস্টন ইউনিভার্সিটিতে ১টি, কার্ডিফ ইউনিভার্সিটিতে ১, ক্রেনফিল্ড ইউনিভার্সিটিতে ১, কিলি ইউনিভার্সিটিতে ১, রবার্ট গর্ডন ইউনিভার্সিটিতে ১, ইউনিভার্সিটি অব ম্যানচেস্টারে ২, উলস্টার ইউনিভার্সিটিতে ১, ইউনিভার্সিটি অব হালে ১ ও ইউনিভার্সিটি অব সাউদাম্পটনে বাংলাদেশিদের জন্য ১টিসহ মোট ৯টি বৃত্তি রয়েছে। প্রতিটির জন্য প্রায় ১২ লাখ ৬২ হাজার ১৩১ টাকা (১০ হাজার পাউন্ড) অনুদান দেওয়া হবে।
যোগ্যতা
- অবশ্যই বাংলাদেশের নাগরিক হতে হবে।
- স্নাতক ডিগ্রিসম্পন্ন হতে হবে। প্রস্তাবিত বিষয়ে আগ্রহ থাকতে হবে।
- যুক্তরাজ্যের হায়ার এডুকেশন ইনস্টিটিউশনের ইংরেজি ভাষায় দক্ষতা থাকতে হবে।
- ব্যক্তিগত ও শিক্ষাগত যোগ্যতার মাধ্যমে যুক্তরাজ্যের সঙ্গে একজন শিক্ষার্থী হিসেবে সম্পর্ক স্থাপন করতে হবে।
- যুক্তরাজ্যভিত্তিক গ্রেট স্কলারদের নেটওয়ার্কে যোগ দিয়ে অভিজ্ঞতা শেয়ারের মানসিকতা থাকতে হবে।
- ব্রিটিশ কাউন্সিল ও তাদের হায়ার এডুকেশন ইনস্টিটিউশনের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ রাখতে হবে এবং গ্রেট স্কলারশিপের একজন দূত হিসেবে কাজ করতে হবে।
- গ্রেট স্কলারশিপের একজন অ্যালামনাই হিসেবে কাজ করতে হবে।

What are we looking for in a GREAT scholar?
GREAT scholars must:
- be a citizen of Bangladesh
- have an undergraduate degree, be motivated, and have an interest in the proposed subject area
- meet the English language requirement of the UK HEI
- establish an engagement with the UK as a scholar, through personal and academic fulfilment
- be willing to attend a networking event of all UK based GREAT scholars, to discuss experiences and capture perceptions of studying in the UK
- be willing to maintain contact with the British Council and their HEI and act as an ambassador for the GREAT Scholarships
- as an alumnus of the GREAT Scholarships, be willing occasionally to speak to potential candidates about his or her own experience of studying in the UK.

- Scholarship funding will be issued to successful scholars by individual universities after registration.
