যুক্তরাজ্যের ইউনিভার্সিটি অব শেফিল্ড ২০২৪ সালে ১২৫টি বৃত্তি দেবে আন্তর্জাতিক শিক্ষার্থীদের। বাংলাদেশসহ বিশ্বের অনেক দেশের শিক্ষার্থীরা এ বৃত্তির জন্য আবেদন করতে পারবেন। স্নাতকোত্তরে এ মেধাবৃত্তি প্রদান করবে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়টি। এর কেতাবি নাম পোস্টগ্র্যাজুয়েট মেরিট স্কলারশিপ–২০২৪।
এ বৃত্তিতে স্নাতকোত্তরের শিক্ষার্থীরা পাঁচ হাজার পাউন্ড করে পাবেন। ৬ জানুয়ারি হিসেবে বাংলাদেশি মুদ্রায় (১ পাউন্ড সমান ১৩৯ টাকা ৬৪ পয়সা) এর পরিমাণ দাঁড়ায় ৬ লাখ ৯৮ হাজার ১৯৪ টাকা। ২০২৪ সালের সেপ্টেম্বরে শুরু হবে প্রোগ্রাম।
এ স্কলারশিপ পাওয়ার জন্য প্রার্থীদের অবশ্যই শেফিল্ড বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ২০২৪ সালের অটাম সেমিস্টারে শুরু হওয়া প্রোগ্রামের একটি পূর্ণ কোর্সে ভর্তি হতে হবে। তবে শেফিল্ড বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় এবং অন্য প্রতিষ্ঠানের মধ্যে শেয়ার করা মাস্টার্স প্রোগ্রামগুলোতে এ বৃত্তি পাওয়া যাবে না। এ ছাড়া দূরশিক্ষণ, ক্রসওয়ে কোর্স বা ইরাসমাস মুন্ডাস কোর্সের শিক্ষার্থীরা এ মেধাবৃত্তি পাবেন না।
International Postgraduate Taught Merit Scholarship 2024
We are offering 125 scholarships worth £5,000 towards your tuition fee.
- The scholarship is worth £2,000 for courses in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and Faculty of Social Sciences and £2,500 for courses in the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Health, and Faculty of Science.
- No additional scholarship application is required, if you meet the eligibility and award criteria below the scholarship will be applied as a tuition fee discount.
- You must have accepted your offer from the University of Sheffield before 4.00pm (UK time) on Friday 14 June 2024 to receive this award.
Eligibility and award criteria
- To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be a national of or permanently domiciled in one of the following

- Your taught masters programme must be scheduled to commence at the University of Sheffield in September 2024.
- You must have accepted your offer for your course before 4.00pm (UK time) on 14 June 2024 to receive this award.
- Subject to meeting the eligibility and award criteria the International Postgraduate Taught Sheffield Scholarship 2024 will be awarded automatically – no application is required.
- The scholarship cannot be awarded in conjunction with any of the following scholarships:

- The University of Sheffield Southern Africa Student Scholarship Fund 2024

- In the event that you are selected for any of the above scholarships the most valuable award will take precedence.
- The scholarship can be awarded in conjunction with any available scholarships from the Department or Faculty you will be studying in, subject to not becoming a sponsored student*. Please use the funding calculator to find out if any scholarships are available from your Department/Faculty.
- Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) and Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) courses are ineligible for the International Postgraduate Taught Scholarship 2024.
- The scholarships will take the form of a tuition fee reduction only.
- You must be self-funded and classified as overseas for tuition fee purposes.
- You must study a course in full at the University of Sheffield. Masters programmes split between the University of Sheffield and a partner institution are not eligible for a scholarship.
- All Crossways courses and Erasmus Mundus courses are ineligible for an automatic scholarship.
- The scholarship cannot be awarded in conjunction with any funding (full or partial) from an external sponsor**, excluding a loan, which has to be paid back in full.
- The scholarship is for full-time and part-time students only. Students studying online or via distance learning are not eligible for the scholarship
- Part-time students will receive the full-time equivalent of the scholarship split pro-rata over the duration of the Masters course, subject to all eligibility and award criteria.
- These scholarships are not applicable to any postgraduate courses where the higher clinical fee is applicable, this includes, but is not exclusive to the following courses:
- DClinDent Orthodontics
- MClinDent in Orthodontics
- DClinDent Endodontics
- MClinDent in Paediatric Dentistry
- DClinDent Periodontics
- MMedSci in Diagnostic Oral Pathology
- DClinDent Prosthodontics
- If you are studying a 2-year Masters programme the scholarship will be available in the second year of your studies subject to successful completion of year 1.
- The scholarship is not applicable to any years in industry or study abroad years that are compulsory or optional elements of your course.
- This scholarship cannot be deferred to a future year of entry. If you decide to defer entry to another year you forfeit this award.
- For scholarship purposes all MArch programmes are considered as postgraduate taught programmes so are eligible for this scholarship.
- * A sponsored student is defined as being an individual in receipt of a total sum of funds from either the University or an external organisation** that matches or exceeds the original tuition fee required by the University.
- ** Government or governmental organisation – international, national or regional; research council; charity; private enterprise; or any similar organisation.
- If you are receiving a loan (which has to be paid back in full) from an organisation to which we offer a discount, you are not able to combine this scholarship with the discount – the most valuable award will take precedence.

ইউনিভার্সিটি অব শেফিল্ড যুক্তরাজ্যের ২০২৪ সালের টাইমস হায়ার এডুকেশন ওয়ার্ল্ড ইউনিভার্সিটি র্যাংঙ্কিংয়ে ১৩তম অবস্থানে রয়েছে। এ ছাড়া ৫০টি আন্তর্জাতিক বৈচিত্র্যময় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মধ্যে একটি হিসেবে স্বীকৃতি পেয়েছে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়টি। এ ক্ষেত্রে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়টির অবস্থান ৪৬তম।
