On 26th July, 2016, IEEE Young Professionals Bangladesh Section along with Department of EEE & COE, American International University Bangladesh (AIUB) organized a technical talk titled “TECHNICAL CAREER & LEADERSHIP CARNIVAL” at Room-266, FE Building, AIUB. The seminar was held to introduce the participants with the scenario of global telecommunication sector now a days and strategic preparation for an engineer stepping in this field as a fresh graduate. The keynote speaker of the talk was Md. Shahinur Alam Jony, Senior Solution Manager, Ericsson (Ireland, China, Dubai, Bangladesh).The prominent speaker is a highly experienced person with a timeframe of around last 15 years in the field of 2G, 3G and 4G networks with renowned companies like Ericsson, Cisco, Juniper and Huawei.
Mr. Rinku Basak (Head, Graduate Program & Assistant Professor, Department of EEE, AIUB) initiated the event by welcoming the participants and delivered a short speech on the importance of Wireless Communication and its Applications. He motivated the PG & UG students to involve themselves in a current research work based on the progressing of new technologies. He also encouraged the students for developing their career by introducing with different post graduate course materials in line with recent research activities and also by completing the higher studies successfully.
Mr. Shahinur then guided the participants in the talk. He divided his talk in two different parts. The first part namely Career Development mainly focused on CV writing, Interview and Presentation skills and Effective Communication proficiency. Second part namely Tomorrow’s World focused about trendy topics like Internet of Things (IOT), Cloud Computing and Big Data. A total of 90 students were present in this event from undergraduate as well as postgraduate program.
At the end of the seminar, Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman (Director & Associate Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) thanked the speaker for such an informative speech and induced the participants to learn more about wireless communication. Humayun Kabir (Assistant Professor, Department of EEE, AIUB); Dr. Md. Kamrul Hassan (Assistant Professor, Department of EEE, AIUB); Mr. A.H.M Shafiqul Islam (Assistant Professor, Dept. of EEE); Mr. Nafiz Ahmed Chisty (Assistant Professor & Special Assistant, Department of EEE, AIUB); Mr. Mahmoodul Islam (Assistant Professor, Dept. of EEE); Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan (Assistant Professor & Special Assistant (OSA), Department of EEE, AIUB); Mr. Chowdhury Akram Hossain(Assistant Professor & Special Assistant (OSA), Department of EEE, AIUB); Mr. Shams Shad Rafi (Chairperson, IEEE Young Professionals Bangladesh Section) graced the event with their presence. The speaker was awarded with Crest, Certificate and AIUB Gift Hamper at the end of the event. IEEE Young Professionals Bangladesh Section executive committee handed over small token of appreciation to Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Dr. Md. Abdul Mannan and Mr. Rinku Basak for their enormous support and guidance towards this affinity group.
