Empowering Energy and Climate Leaders: Central and Eastern Europe Fellowship

The Clean Air Task Force (CATF) is excited to announce the Central and Eastern Europe Fellowship, a transformative eight-week program designed for early-career professionals committed to tackling the challenges of the energy transition in the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region.

Program Overview

This fellowship aims to empower the next generation of policy experts and thought leaders to develop resilient decarbonization pathways for the CEE region. Up to eight fellows will collaborate with CATF experts, engage in rigorous learning sessions, and connect with peers and key stakeholders in the energy and climate space.

Program Structure

  1. Online Modules Over the first seven weeks, fellows will participate in virtual sessions led by CATF experts. Topics include climate and energy policy, effective advocacy, climate communication, and social media engagement. Sessions will be held twice a week, each lasting approximately 90 minutes.
  2. Workshop in Brussels In the final week, fellows will attend a two-day in-person workshop in Brussels. Activities include advocacy training, public speaking sessions, guest speaker presentations, and networking events.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Have 2-5 years of experience in the climate or energy sector.
  • Be affiliated with a think tank, NGO, academic institution, government agency, or similar organization in one of the following countries: Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, or Ukraine.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in a relevant field such as economics, environmental science, engineering, political science, or sociology.
  • Demonstrate excellent English communication skills (minimum C1 level).
  • Show a strong interest in addressing climate change and energy transformation in their home country.
  • Be available to travel to Brussels for the workshop during the week of October 27, 2025 (dates subject to change). All expenses will be covered.
