The EU Delegation to Kenya is offering a six-month funded traineeship within the Head of Delegation (HoD) and Trade Sections, starting in May 2025.
What You Will Do
This traineeship provides a unique opportunity to work directly with EU diplomats and experts in a fast-paced international environment. As a trainee, you will:

Support the Head and Deputy Head of Delegation in coordinating the Delegation’s cross-sectoral activities (political affairs, press, economic relations, development cooperation, etc.)

Monitor Kenya’s regional diplomacy, foreign policy objectives, and peace and security developments

Attend meetings, draft flash reports, and contribute to internal briefings
-
Assist in organizing and coordinating meetings with EU Member States’ embassies
-
Contribute to economic diplomacy efforts, especially in trade and investment

Track and analyze developments related to trade flows, fiscal policy, trade agreements (including the EPA), and market access issues
This role offers practical exposure to the inner workings of EU external policy in Africa, with a particular focus on diplomacy and economic cooperation.
