This position offers a unique opportunity to engage deeply in scholarship, mentorship, curriculum development, and multi-stakeholder collaboration focused on Black and Afro-diasporic communities locally and globally.

About ACFAM and ABLD

  • ABLD-focused events: symposia, conferences, and public engagement activities

  • Teaching one ABLD-relevant course (schedule permitting)

  • Research, grant writing, and mentorship of students and assistants

There is also dedicated time and support available for postdoctoral-led research aligned with ACFAM and ABLD’s mission.

Who Should Apply?

Ideal candidates will have:

  • A PhD (awarded within the past 5 years) in any discipline relevant to Africa and Black Diaspora Studies

  • Experience with Canada’s Black Studies community

  • A strong publication and presentation record

  • Experience with teaching, curriculum development, and collaborative initiatives

  • Excellent communication, project management, and grant-writing skills

Preference will be given to candidates currently in Ontario and legally authorized to work in Canada.
