Collective Power for Reproductive Justice is proud to relaunch the Emerging Leaders Network—formerly known as the New Leadership Networking Initiative (NLNI)—as a reimagined, year-long leadership development program beginning in Fall 2025.
About the Program
The Emerging Leaders Network is a national initiative designed to train and support emerging community activists who are working to advance reproductive health, rights, and justice. Through intentional skill building, coalition development, and deep relationship building, the program fosters a powerful, connected network of reproductive justice leaders.
In alignment with Collective Power’s broader mission, the program emphasizes a holistic understanding of reproductive justice—one that highlights its intersection with other social justice movements.
What’s New in 2025
The redesigned Emerging Leaders Network will now follow a year-long cohort model, providing sustained support and opportunities for growth. Participants will engage in:
- Monthly cohort calls
- Two in-person convenings
- A collaborative curriculum focused on movement strategy, political education, and leadership development
This new structure is rooted in the belief that lasting change is built through ongoing community, collaboration, and care.
Who Should Apply?
This program is ideal for emerging organizers who:
- Have a few years of community organizing experience
- Are ready to sharpen their leadership and political strategy skills
- Want to build coalitions across sectors and identities
- Are committed to learning with and from peers
- Believe in the power of collective movement building
We believe that leadership can emerge at any stage of life, and we welcome applicants of all ages, backgrounds, and geographies. For the 2025–2026 cohort, we are especially encouraging place-based organizers—particularly those from rural and small-town communities—to apply.
Program Legacy
Since 1999, this initiative has supported over 1,000 activists from 275 organizations in strengthening advocacy skills, building networks, and developing strategic approaches to justice work. Alumni include recent graduates, new leaders at advocacy organizations, emerging directors of grassroots groups, and seasoned organizers looking to deepen their impact.
As Paris Hatcher, founder of Black Feminist Future, shares:
“What makes CLPP unique is its intentionality around leadership development – they’re creating a space for both new and experienced leaders with a focus on skill building and issues. It’s a rite of passage – all movement leaders have been through CLPP’s programs.”
