Overview
Youthwise is the OECD’s Youth Advisory Board, created to connect young people directly with international policy-making processes and leadership development. Established in 2021, Youthwise engages individuals aged 18 to 30 from OECD Member countries to contribute their ideas, insights, and perspectives to global policy debates.
Through this initiative, the OECD aims to strengthen young people’s understanding of international cooperation while ensuring that youth voices help shape the policies that affect their generation and future.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for Youthwise 2025–2027, applicants must:

Be between 18 and 30 years of age by 15 May 2025.

national of an OECD Member country
-
Be fluent in English.
-
Demonstrate a strong interest in global issues, especially the green and digital transitions. Interest in sustainable tourism is highly encouraged.

Commit up to 8 hours per month to Youthwise activities.
-
Be available for active participation from July 2025 to June 2027.
-
Not be currently affiliated with the OECD, its subsidiaries, or member country delegations, and not have an immediate family member currently affiliated with the Organisation.
How to Apply
Applicants must:

Submit a 90-second video outlining their policy interest.
-
Complete a written application detailing personal background and potential contributions to Youthwise.

Await the outcome of a jury review by an inter-generational, cross-directorate OECD panel. Selected candidates will be informed in July 2025.
Youthwise in Action: Past Highlights
Since its inception, Youthwise has played a key role in OECD initiatives:

In 2021, members contributed to the OECD Youth Action Plan and the Organisation’s 60th Anniversary Vision Statement.

In 2022, Youthwise representatives participated in high-level discussions on digital policy, climate action, and social mobility.

In 2023, Youthwise addressed plenary sessions at OECD Ministerial meetings and developed a legacy report with recommendations on youth participation in policymaking at national and international levels.
