The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and McDonald’s are offering financial assistance to outstanding students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) through the Black & Positively Golden® (B&PG) Scholarship Program.
For the 2025-2026 academic year, 63 scholars will be selected to receive up to $15,000 ($7,500 per semester) to cover verified tuition and fees.
About the Black & Positively Golden® Scholarship Program
Launched in 2021, the B&PG Scholarship Program supports students pursuing higher education at HBCUs. In 2024, the initiative will award $1 million in scholarships, reinforcing McDonald’s long-standing commitment to education in Black communities.
Alongside financial aid, scholars will receive a subscription to Alkeme, a Black-owned mental health and wellness app providing content curated by Black mental health professionals.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the scholarship, students must:
- Be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior at an HBCU during the 2025-2026 academic year.
- Have a current cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher.
- Demonstrate leadership abilities.
- Show financial need.
- Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident.
Application Process
- Upload Requirements Applicants must upload a professional image featuring their school logo and/or school colors.
- Submit a Video Response Answer the following question in a video (2 minutes max):
- What unique perspective, passion, or curiosity drives your academic interests? How do you envision it shaping your future as a scholar and leader in your field?
- Additional Information After submitting the video, students will be asked whether they are currently, or have ever been, McDonald’s team members. This information will be considered for potential team member scholarships.
