The Embassy of Ireland in London is inviting applications for its 2025–2026 Graduate Policy Officer Programme. These full-time positions, commencing in mid-August 2025 and concluding in mid-July 2026, offer recent graduates a unique opportunity to contribute to the Embassy’s political, press, cultural, and economic work.
About the Embassy
Operating under the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Embassy’s mission is to promote and safeguard Ireland’s values, interests, and economic prosperity abroad. This work is carried out under ministerial guidance and through Ireland’s global diplomatic network.
Role Overview
Graduate Policy Officers will join a dynamic team engaged in a wide array of policy and administrative work, including:
- Monitoring UK media and parliamentary activity, including committee work
- Conducting research on political, foreign policy, Northern Ireland, and EU-related topics
- Attending briefings and drafting analytical reports
- Supporting Embassy events and handling general administrative duties
Successful candidates may work partly remotely from London, with regular in-person attendance at the Embassy.
This role is particularly well-suited for individuals with an interest in communications, politics, or international relations.
Candidate Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold at least an Honours Undergraduate Degree by the application deadline
- Demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and analytical skills
- Be fluent in English
- Exhibit strong organisational and administrative capabilities, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Show proven customer service experience
- Possess strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, sound judgment, and the ability to work collaboratively
- Maintain a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and a commitment to achieving results under pressure
Terms and Conditions
- Contract duration: 11 months, full-time
- Location: Embassy of Ireland, London (17 Grosvenor Place, SW1X 7HR)
- Annual salary: £28,468.32 (pro rata)
- Annual leave: 20 days (exclusive of UK public holidays)

Selection Process
