Charité Center for Global Health announces its inaugural Research Fellowship Program in Public Health Intelligence for 2025. This unique fellowship invites academic researchers from around the world to Berlin, Germany, for a 3- to 6-month residency aimed at advancing global health intelligence and pandemic preparedness.
Empowering Global Research Collaboration
The program is designed to bring together mid- to senior-career researchers from diverse backgrounds, enabling them to contribute to high-impact, applied global health research. Fellows will focus on priority research areas that support evidence-based decision-making during public health emergencies and enhance collective understanding of epidemic and pandemic threats.
Hosted jointly by the Charité Center for Global Health (CCGH) and the WHO Pandemic Hub, the fellowship offers an unparalleled opportunity to engage with Berlin’s vibrant Global Health ecosystem while building long-term research partnerships.
Fellowship Details at a Glance
- Duration: June to December 2025 (3–6 months, with a preference for full 6-month residencies)

Who Can Apply?
The fellowship is open to:
- Postdoctoral researchers with mid-career (5–15 years) or senior-career (15+ years) experience
- Exceptional early-career researchers with a strong track record in relevant fields
- Researchers from non-health disciplines, provided their expertise aligns with fellowship goals
Additional requirements include:
- Demonstrated research experience in relevant fields
- A completed application with a project proposal aligned with fellowship themes
- English proficiency at a minimum of C1 level
- Permanent or fixed-term academic positions, or independent applicants

Fellowship Support
The fellowship offers comprehensive financial support:
- Living Allowance: In accordance with the public sector collective agreement (E14, Level 2)
- Travel Coverage: Including one European conference
- Publication Funding: Support for one peer-reviewed publication
- Insurance Reimbursement: For medical coverage during the fellowship
